"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."
When a death occurs, life for those who live on changes forever. The Church recognizes this change and offers hope and comfort to those who grieve the loss of a loved one. As Jesus comforted Mary and Martha, the parish community can reach out to comfort those who mourn.
One of the most difficult trials for married couples and families is the loss of a child in the womb. The incredibly personal and private nature of such difficulties often renders it especially painful as couples feel powerless in reaching out to others for assistance and support. The Church recognizes the particular need for sensitive pastoral care in these struggles to help couples and families heal and unite their sufferings to the Lord Jesus.
