"America you are beautiful …and blessed…The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being, but especially the weakest and most defenseless. If you want equal justice for all and true freedom and lasting peace, then America, defend life."
Pope John Paul II
Life and Dignity of the Human Person
“All people are created in the image and likeness of God. Therefore, all human life, at all stages, is sacred. This belief is the core foundation to all principles of Catholic Social Teaching or CST. In our society, human life is under direct attack from abortion and euthanasia, and threatened by cloning, embryonic stem cell research, and the use of the death penalty. Catholics believe every person is precious, more important than material possessions, and also the measure of every institution whether it threatens or enhances the life and dignity of the human person.”
