Christian Leadership Institute (C.L.I.)
C.L.I. is a summer leadership program designed to provide youth leaders with skills for leadership in their parish, school and community. It takes place for 5 days each summer with a limited enrollment.
The goals of the Christian Leadership Institute are to foster the leadership potential of each individual and to heighten his or her awareness of the responsibilities of leadership in a high school or parish and in the larger community. The week includes planning skills, group dynamics, communication skills and decision-making. There is daily opportunity for prayer, journal writing, worship experiences and reflection.
Christian Leadership Institute is open to youth entering their sophomore through senior year of high school.
Scouting is an effective way to help Catholic youths to do their duty to God and to their country. Scouting builds character and teaches devotion to God in an environment that provides wholesome fun under the guidance of strong adult role models. The scouting programs provide a wonderful channel to involve youth in the life of Catholic parishes.
Once a year, in both Pensacola and Tallahassee, the Department of Youth sponsors Scout Sunday. Scouts receive recognition for the work they have done in their various religious medal programs. Special awards are also given to adult leaders for their work in Catholic scouting.
The Diocesan Youth Council represents young people from the five deaneries of the diocese. Each deanery discerns two youth to represent them for the new school year. Young people who wish to apply must attend Christian Leadership Institute.
Deadline for application to Youth Council is June 29, 2015
